Hello good day and welcome to our continuous coverage of the Russia 2018 World Cup.
Group A's first matchday concludes on the second day of the World Cup as Egypt face Uruguay this afternoon.
With World Cup hosts Russia putting five goals past Saudi Arabia in the opening game the day before, The Pharaohs and The Sky Blue both face a tough test in their first game of the tournament.
The fitness of Mohamed Salah remains under question and the key talking point for the African nation heading into the game as they look to navigate the group.
For this game though, Salah is on the bench. The 25-year-old has not played since injuring shoulder ligaments during Liverpool's Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid on 26 May.
On Thursday, Egypt boss Hector Cuper said he could "almost assure" media that Salah would "100%" play.
