Prince Tagoe details how Otto Addo can get the best out of Kudus and Issahaku in Black Stars

Former Black Stars striker, Prince Tagoe, has proffered some tactical recommendations on how two of Ghana's most in-form players: Mohammed Kudus and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, can co-exist in the Black Stars.

While Kudus is having a successful first season at West Ham, Fatawu Issahaku has been a key cog for Leicester in their bid for a return to the Premier League.

In his debut season at West Ham, Kudus has scored thirteen goals across all competitions and become a favourite of supporters of the London-based club.

Issahaku, on the other hand, has justified his loan move to Leicester City with a series of impressive performances, headlined by his hat-trick against Southampton on Tuesday, April 25, 2024.

The youngster has managed six goals and twelve assists for Leicester, whose return to the Premier League will be confirmed by a victory in their next championship match.

Speaking on Angel TV, Prince Tagoe played down suggestions that Kudus and Issahaku cannot play in the same team.

He outlined the unique qualities of the two players and offered ways Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, can deploy the two talents and get the best out of them.

Responding to a question on whether the two players can co-exist in the Black Stars, Prince Tagoe said “Every coach has a philosophy but I think they are different players. Kudus is more of a ball holder, striker and versatile, but Fatawu is more direct and quick. He is a winger who likes to cut in. They are different players and you don’t necessarily have to bench one to play the other. They can both operate in the same team."

Prince Tagoe also spoke glowingly of Fatawu Issahaku for the massive transformation he has undergone at Leicester.

Tagoe noted a dramatic improvement in Issahaku’s play from an inconsistent winger with a penchant for taking erratic shots, to a more matured player with evolved decision-making qualities.

“He was raw and had issues with his final decision but now he has improved drastically. The Leicester coach has worked on him and improved his decision-making and overall play. Previously, he used to take shots from any distance but now he has matured,” he said.
