Am extremely happy about the courts decision. IRCC operates with highly incompetent immigration officials who just sit there without analyzing applications properly before denying people of their visas.

It appears they just want to make money from applicants all the time through their unreasonable decisions.

This is a disgrace to the Canadian Immigration and Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The entire world has come to the realization that those officials consistently make decisions that are unreasonable.

This is a world record and everybody knows that such decisions wouldn’t be taken by countries that don’t practice democracy.

Shame on the reviewing officer and the ministry responsible for supervising them.

Thanks to the government of Ghana for the swift decision taken.

Partey just go out there and play your heart out and not the usual display of lackadaisical performance. The entire government machinery had been deployed to secure your reputation hence the best way you can say thank you to Ghana is to put up a master class performance to justify your worth.

God be with you and the entire team. Until the final whistle all of you should fight in every game as though your entire life depends on it.

It just does not make sense. The judge could have granted him a 48 hour temporary Visa so he leaves Canada right after the match. Just like America did with the Iranian team.

Ghanaweb is misreporting again. How could Thomas Partey be in court when he had been denied visa to enter Canada. You people should be posting honest reports instead of lying to your readers. BBC reported that he was denied the visa when Partey responded that he had never been arrested in the past or faced criminal prosecution for any crime, and that was the reason they refused him the visa, instead of answering them correctly that false allegations had been made against him, and he is yet to defend himself in an English court. Maybe he misunderstood the question, but he should have told them any ongoing allegations and prosecution he may be facing

Thomas Partey will miss Ghana's World Cup opener against Panama after wrongly telling officials in Canada he had never been arrested or charged with a crime.

Partey, 33, was denied entry to Canada before Wednesday's match in Toronto because of ongoing criminal proceedings in the UK.

The Ghanaian government sought permission for him to enter the country briefly to take part in the game but that appeal was rejected at a federal court in Ottawa.

The appeal ruling said there was "no serious issue in the underlying refusal" of the visa and "the applicant failed to disclose that he is the subject of multiple criminal charges for sexual violence in the UK".

Former Arsenal midfielder Partey pleaded not guilty to seven charges of rape and one count of sexual assault relating to allegations by four different women between 2020 and 2022 and is scheduled to stand trial next year.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) told the BBC: ''Canada has been consistent that hosting major events does not change Canada's immigration laws.

"Every person seeking to come to Canada is assessed individually, based on the facts available and the law that applies.''
