That's a lie, he's never led any contingent to the world cup. He's served in the capacity of an FA chairman, match commissioner for both CAF and FIFA organized matches but he's never led any team to the world cup. Nyantakyi has done it twice and he's about to do it for the third time. He stands in a better position to know this than Alhaji Jawula. I understands it's just a suggestion but hear him well. He said "If I'm going to any event and know the level is beyond me, there's no problem seeking for assistance in order to excel". What's Jawula trying to say here? Has Akwasi Appiah said at any time that the world cup is beyond him? Jawula is trying to say the world cup is beyond Appiah which to me is nonsense. Duya and Milo took us there without any technical assistance and why should Appiah go with one? We have entrusted the job into Appiah's hands and let's allow him to do it. If we go and take so many goal in our basket, we'll still come back and work hard enough to do better next time. Over reliance of the white man is what has kept us this far behind. Let's believe in ourselves and it shall be well with us. Amen

Just sit back and enjoy football made by Kwesi Appiah. enough of your old fashion ideas.

There is wisdom in what Jawula is saying. We are all proud to have a local coach and whatever good results are achieved will be to the benefit of Ghanaians and Appiah. The Technical Director first and foremost should be better (based on statistical, scientific criteria, football pedigree factors and of course experience)than who we have atm. The recruitment search for that Technical Director should start among Ghanaians, Africans and descendants. It is only with the failure of getting somebody qualified and better than who we have, should we cast the net wide to include others (Europeans,Latino, etc). I belong to the 'old school' of Black Stars fans. This group of BS FANS always support local coaches to produce better results than expatriate ones. Our only interest is for the betterment of all connected to the team. A good Technical Director is only there in an advisory capacity and should not DICTATE and be contracted for short "periods" of time. At the same time, a full training or refresher course/programme should be implemented simultaneously. I do not believe Jawula is biased against Appiah in his assertion and hope the discussions are not thrown into unchartered waters from where it might be difficult to stear the ship to shore. We have an important match in Cairo next month and our combined prayers and support to the coaching and technical teams should be of utmost and paramount importance. Open your minds to the suggestion and just see it as a well-intentioned one, without any malice. Ghana will be better off with a local coach and a super efficient technical team that is employing the modern day sports scientific data (stats, food science, videograms etc) analysis to the benefit of the team. The coach will have this data to his disposal, which could be of help in team selection. Thank you.

It is just unfortunate that Jawula is still not getting it that the old order has changed. For the donkey years he spent as a GFA,CAF or a Financial vampire he still can't put one and one together to rid off his foolishness; that he spent so much on foreign coaches and achieved nothing except kick backs ? What's the difference between a top technical support and the support of a technical director? Or you too smart than all Ghanaians? Where was this white man top technical support when Akwasi Appiah and other technical brains were toiling to get things done? Thank you Jawula, we have had enough of your tricks. Kindly shut your stinking mouth and stop making yourself too competent. Your ideas belongs to those two decades ago that you wasted Ghanaian funds on foreign coaches. Africans can be their own leaders. Your arrogance will lead you to a disgrace. Akwasi Appiah needs no technical support from an outsider.........

My advice to Jawula is to shut the front door.

What is the difference between a coach and a technical director? Ghanaians just talk, no thinking. Owwww Ghana!!!! Kwame Nkrumah Ghana!!!
You are in US and you think they wait for it to get broken before they fix it??? I am sure that is why they are about 20 years ahead of us.
We just conclude without knowing what we are even concluding or talking about. Seriously Ghana must learn to think all over again. Peace.

They only fix when they realize a problem. Akwasi Appiah he doesn't need any technical director. Jawula doesn't seem to have confidence in Appiah and he should be bold to say so instead of the nonsense he's talking about.

Away with this nonesense! What was the pedigree of the Serbian coaches (Milo, Coffee and Tea) who took us to the world? Were they not coaching unknown clubs in Europe. Let's support our own and stop this eurocentric thrash. Even if Kwesi Appiah does not meet expectations at the world cup, which I very much doubt,he would have put himself in a position to be hired by another country. That is how experience is built. Jawula is calling Oti Akenteng arrogant and all but he should listen to himself: that he has seen it all in the game of football? As GFA president, how many times was he able to guide the Black Stars to the CAF finals? How many times did he qualify the Black Stars to the world cup?

The problem with us Ghanaian is that when the Black Stars win we close our eyes to the shortcomings of the team and then begin to demand the resignation of the coach when the team loses. Though the current team is good it shows real weakness in defence and the goal keeping areas and this is where a Technical Director may be useful in pointing out the weaknesses for these to be corrected. We want a team that can conquer the world and whatever it takes to do that lets do it.

A technical director is not a magician and he wouldn't come to train players, he'll only come to help strategize game plan period. It takes time for every coach to study his players to make a team gel. Appiah has come very far in this capacity if you compare with his predecessors, let's leave him to do his job.
