Who ever said the BS can beat Belgium is dreaming. Belgium is a very compact team and very strong. I watch them play in the US, and they are WC favorites. The players are stout tall and very fast and BS are no match.

Daniel van Buyten, Vincent Kompany, Eden Hazard, Marouane Fellaini, Moussa Dembele, Romelu Lukaku, Christian Benteke, not to mention Jan Vertonghen a defender who has been capped 46 times.

They were in the upper echelons of FIFA's ranking system before Ghana played them(Czech) in Germany 2006. What did we witness ? A severe drubbing by the Black Stars, to everyone's- including Ghanaians amazement. Do you know Ghana scored one of the fastest goal ever at the world cup in that game ? Asamoah Gyan scored in less than a minute against a highly ranked team.

I am trying to get at the fact that sometimes we Africans internalize the Euro-centric superiority thrown at us, to the point where we assume a defeatist posture. I agree we must be cautiously optimistic, but never should we walk into battle unprepared. We earned our spot just like any team, and must never give any opponent a reason to feel better playing against us. Our players and coaches must be considerate of the new perception of Ghana. No longer are we going to sneak into such a continent "unnoticed". We will be scouted very well before this tournament starts, so we better be prepared to play in a multi-dimensional way.
