Please, if this publication about you is correct, then rescind your decision immediately. I'm sorry when I saw the title, I didn't even look for reasons like aclimatization and other plausible ones. UNLESS IT IS COMPULSORY, DON'T DARE. My last word, I bet you, even if you camp elsewhere, look for an expert to verify all your water installations, etc. What I'm writing is serious but my country first.

Flight cost will be almost 900 percent between June and July, hotels are going up 300%, even sleeping in tents will cost 35 pounds per night. Besides, the variation in weather are about the same in both California and Brazil as both places fall between 64F - 86F daily on the average. Let's leave the GFA to do their job. This is not their first shot at world cup so they know better and will do their home work well before taking such decision.

US mens soccer plays home games depending upon their opponent for example USA will never play a competitive gainst Mexico in California, Florida, Texas or in any border state or state with pro Hispanic population.

The reason to camp in the US doesnot mean the US would have access to the camp. For instance USC, UCLA, Oxnard, Stab Hub Center etc all have facilities where any team can camp with limited access.

This is inconceivable and totally shocking. Just recently the US team was looking for a scout to snitch on the Black Stars for 30 shekels of silver. Now GFA is trying to deliver the entire team and the coaches and the technical team to the US team by allowing the Black Stars to camp under the suspicious eyes of the biggest opponent. What is the payback in this scheme of things. Never! This cannot be allowed to happen.

These are some of the reasons why this idea must be nipped in the bud.

(1) The weather in the US is locally not the same as those of the soccer venues in Brazil. Check it out!

(2)It will be much more expensive to maintain the Black Stars in the US
due to the cost of renting training facilities, and lodging in hotels.

(3) There are too many distractions in the US which will take the minds of the Black Star squad from the daunting mission of rocking the world with soccer: knocking our opponents cold and bringing home the trophy.

(4)We must evade surveillance activity of the scouts of the US soccer team and may God forbid, sabotage , including attempts at bribbing the players and blackmailing of players by faceless and nefarious saboteurs.

(5) The flight from US to the first venue Manaus in Brazil is too long and will perturb with the physiological balance of the Black Stars such that they may not reccuperate before the start of the first game. Appiah knows this.

Instead the famous Black Stars should go directly to South America to prepare for the Showdown. They could go to Guyana, Argentina or to Brazil. In this way the players get enough time to acclimatize and have access to local teams to practice with everyday for minimal expenditure of money.

The Los Angeles climate in June average temperature of 72F and record high of 104F . But then the rainfall is very scarce with aveverage of 0.08 inches. This does not duplicate the June Amazonian Tropical Rainforest conditins of Heavy Rainfall, suffocating humidity and excruciating inferno temperatures.

Also we cut down on the flight to Brazil at a time too close to the game. Such flights aggravate upper and lower respiratory problems; create turbulence in a person's blood pressure and may cause Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).

Also we really dont want to train near our major group nation.

You watch,he and his cabal are going to 'con' the Mahama administration into loosening the already tight purse strings,to enable them go to town at the expense of the ordinary people of Ghana. Look, Brazil is such a big country with a superb football infrastructure across the nation. So, could we not find suitable training sites outside those set aside for the tournament proper in Brazil? Could we not have gained more by playing against some of their top tier fine local clubs?
Are 3 out of the 4 friendly matches not slated against Latin American

For all the previous world cups we've participated, the USA has been rated higher above us because they play more friendlies with those tiny countries around them. Antigua, St. Kitts and Francis etc. Within USA, they select players based on number of assist given in a year, total number of runs on the field, your speed, goals scored and I guess it even include the total number of good tackles per defender. This is why Donovan and co are still in the team. They can have a world class coach and all that but when the referee's whistle goes off for game start, that day we all will see and know who's who. USA has beaten us on paper every year. I'm not saying it's going to be a run over but we'll beat them in spite of they being the most prepared team in the entire tournament.

hence it is missleading to say San Diego (coastal) weather is comparable to that of Brazil. Not even the hot deserts of San Diego, Riverside , San Bernandido and Los Angeles counties compare to the weather in Brazil.

Even team USA is going to Brazil to acclimatise their team.
Any good general will tell you that an element of surprise is necessary to win a battle. You do not open up your mode of attack, weaknesses and tendencies to an opponent prior to battle.
One thing USA does well which is seen in the game of NFL is their ability to watch film on opponent and fill in the holes and attack your weaknesses. Playing in Los Angeles against two teams that team USA has already played gives them the blueprint to comparatively study and beat Ghana.

The lowest temperature in Ghana is record at about 40 F. Every single city in California has recorded a temperature at or lower than 30F.

the entire state of California is a desert hence California has minimal rainfall-how often does it rain in southern Ghana. There is no known rain forest in California.

Is Nyantayi bringing a hotel with him from Ghana, with all bed spread, food, drinks and breathing air intact, or the Stars would be depending on what is served them at their lodging place? Has he given up on advancing from the group stage so soon? Is he using the team's camping to visit some loved ones? Has he been promised free boarding, feeding and shuttling?
Ghana is Ghana and is unique in its own right just as US is, so if some teams are camping in USA, is it obligatory on Ghana to do same?
Money has been made available to the national team for preparation (including camping) so why this choice with all the countries in the world with similar flimsy excuse he is giving? Does he want Ghanaians to start believing corruption is setting in the preparation to the World Cup?
If that is the case, he should be careful Mahama does not use him as one scapegoat after the World Cup.

The US coaches probably have a ton of detailed scouting reports on both the team and individual players. They also have game films and tapes on the Black Star, so they do not to invade the Stars’ campsite to spy on them. The Black Stars will be playing friendly matches before they head to Brazil. This gives their opponents an opportunity to scout them, including the US. All fears aside, it is a good idea to camp in the US rather than Europe before proceeding to Brazil

It is rather interesting reading the comments and suggestions peoples they are making. First, not every south American country is safe. Secondly, nobody has mentioned logistics ie accommodation, transportation, training pitch, catering,security, among others. All these must be considered before jumping on a plane with a team to go camping. In USA it is very easy to organize these things but same cannot be said of the many countries people are mentioning. Also i don't think many of you know how hot it gets here in the USA around the summer.
Finally, not many in the USA will care about our presence like most of you may think. In fact those who follow the game are not that many compared to how football brings life to a standstill in Ghana.
