If Asamoah Gyan has rescinded his decision to stay away from taking Penalties, then he should concede that he needs to learn a whole lot how to take them right.

If Asamoah Gyan has rescinded his decision to stay away from taking Penalties, then he should concede that he needs to learn a whole lot how to take them right.

I have watched all his missed Penalties and one thing stands out in all of them. And that is: he does not look up to detect where the Keeper is leaning to before taking it. He always would have his head down and kick the ball in the wrong direction.

If he wants to learn how to score Penalty goals, he ought to swallow his pride and learn from other players who are very good at it. I would recommend that he watches the Mexicans, especially, to learn that skill from them.

I bet the whole Mexican National Team individually has one of the best Penalty-kicking prowess in the World. Each of the Mexican players would be able to kick every single time and score.

Other excellent Penalty kickers include Arsenal's Chilean International Alexis Sanchez, Bayern's Lewandowski and the Soccer maestro extraordinaire, Messi, of course.

None of these players above would miss a crucial penalty like Asamoah Gyan has done repeatedly to deny Ghana important wins. I salute him for his contribution to the Ghanaian Soccer. But taking Penalties is still a skill he is lacking, and could improve a lot on, if he would be humble enough to learn. To offer a hint that I observed in all the best, they all start from a little distance towards the ball, pause briefly to catch a final glimpse at where the Keeper is leaning before sending the ball in the opposite direction. I wish Asamoah good luck. He should not let the honorary degree get into his head. Humility is the key to every success. He may feel like being already at the top of his game. I seriously doubt that. He has the skill set to do much better before retiring.

Gyan, it is enough. Even if you take penalty and score, the whole nation sits up like sharp nails in the ass. Your penalty troubles have reached intolerable proportions, and I don't think it is fair to the Ghanaian seeing Gyan again electing himself to take a kick. The last time you missed in the US game, nearly vomited when I saw you behind the ball, and low-and-behold, you wasted it, then I run to the toilet.
Asamoah Gyan, if I were you, I would hold on to my little remaining honor before I become a virtual useless football entity. You have had your chances, and played in the team for 1 1/2 decades. Allow the younger ones to develop theirs too. Leave the penalty kicks alone....ooooh to!!
