The National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has cast doubt on the commitment of President Akufo-Addo in fighting Galamsey in the country.
The NDC during the 4th edition of 'Moment of Truth' said President Akufo-Addo’s has failed in his promise to fight illegal mining in the country.
According to them, “in the circumstances, we demand that the President overhauls the Inter-Ministerial Committee against Illegal Mining and urgently review his approach to the fight against illegal mining. This is the time for President Akufo-Addo to rise above his sweet but hollow rhetoric and start to walk the talk. He must show genuine commitment and dedication to the fight against illegal mining".
Reiterating these comments during a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Wednesday, Sammy Gyamfi said: “the President has lost the fight, he is not serious about the fight . . . when we talk about the lack of commitment on Akufo-Addo’s part to fight this, we know what we are talking about”.
