Kwesi Nyonyo, a Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Tema East, has appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to nominate Mr Ishmael Anum Mensah as the Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive.

In a letter he wrote to the President and copied to the Ghana News Agency, Mr Nyonyo said Mr Mensah, was a known face, who has helped the NPP in diverse ways.

He said Mr Mensah had Master’s Degree in Local Government Financial Management at the Local Government Studies at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

He holds a Bachelor in Management studies from the University of Cape Cost and an HND in Accountancy from the Accra Polytechnic.

Mr Mensah is a trained Teacher with Teachers Certificate A from SDA Training College.

He worked with the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council and the Upper East Regional Coordinating Council.

He also worked with many Assemblies including the Greater Metropolitan Assembly as Head of Department.

He was an employee with the State Enterprises Commission as the Account Manager and Trainee Consultant. He was also the Account Manager of Indo Ghana Company Ltd.

He worked with the Ghana Education Service for many years as a Teacher and is currently the Principal Internal Auditor at the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly.

Mr Nyonyo said: “Mr Ishmael Anum Mensah is taller than all the indigenous people in the race. And this explains why Mr Obeng Fosu, a former Tema East NPP Chairman described him ‘as the best Tema indigene for TMA’.

“Your Excellency, we would please edge you to nominate Mr Ishmael Anum Mensah because he is the obvious choice.

“He lives in our constituency and we know his contribution to Adjei Kojo. We have assurance from majority of the Tema Assembly members that if he is nominated, he would be endorsed easily because he has all the qualities.

We hope due attention would be given to our appeal.

Thank you.
