Minority must leave Otiko alone - Group

The seemingly insuperable internal wranglings of the NDC seems to have had telling effects on the forward march of the party, but instead of balancing the effects of this Haruna Iddrisu/John Mahama dichotomy with an antidote powerful enough to lessen their plights, it does appear that the only way to block the public from appreciating the level of agitations besetting their party, the Minority in Parliament has found solace in misdirecting the focus of Ghanaians to Otiko Afisah Djaba, the Gender Minister-designate.

Crusaders for Change has tried everything humanly possible to figure out if these frantic efforts to prevent Otiko Afisah Djaba have any justifiable reason, but all our efforts seem to have culminated in vain. We cannot find a single plausible reason why Otiko Afisah Djaba must be subjected to the sort of ordeals she was made to go through.

Inasmuch as we cannot readily insist that this posturing of the Minority is an attack on women in their unflinching desires to be counted amongst the high and mighty within our political circles, one can safely conclude that these NDC officers hate successful women in politics.

The Minority makes a case against the personality of Otiko Afisah Djaba as regards the strained relationship between her and her mother, and this, ladies and gentlemen, falls within the remit of the reasons they contend should be used to disqualify Otiko. Common sense would tell one not to marry the supposed cold relationship between mother and daughter to the job portfolio so assigned to him. The Pandora's box, if we are pushed, would be opened for all to witness its contents, and it would be realized that everybody has cobwebs in his closet. Relying upon this reason exposes the Minority to ridicule.

It is appalling, to say the least, that the Minority raises an issue with Otiko not having done her National Service, but this example can be instanced in the fact that Okudzeto Ablakwa never had his National Service, but he was made a deputy minister! What happened to principles? This is nothing more than a travesty of principles!

It must be made abundantly clear to Ghanaians that Otiko Afisah Djaba completed only Secondary School, and this makes her ineligible to pursue National Service. The Minority is superintending over some claims which have no logical bases, and the sooner they start realizing that these reasons are unsustainable, and must be discarded!

It is an affront to womanhood to have our the Minority stampede efforts aimed at ensuring that women are represented in our political landscape. Their reasons defy logic and must not be tolerated!

Crusaders for Change ask the Minority to be responsible instead of upsetting the apple cart! Oti Bless, Fiifi Kwertey and co were scaled through unscathed, and Otiko must not be an exception.

Thank you!!!

Signed...
