Northern Regional secretary of the New Patriotic Party is accusing some “criminal party executives” of selling selling application forms for the office of District Chief Executive.
Salifu Sule explains, the party has not put application forms for the office of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives up for sale and has warned unsuspecting victims to be on alert.
According to Sule, “we have not issued any directive or given out any application forms. This is the first time I am hearing of such a thing and it amounts to thievery.”
“Victims must immediately report such executives to the regional secretariat for the necessary action”, he added.
Two executives of the New Patriotic Party in the Northern Region have been accused of extorting money from some youth in the region after promising the victims the position of District Chief Executive.
Zakaria Sulemana and Abdulai Iddrisu, constituency chairman and secretary respectively of the party in the Bole-Bamboi Constituency are alleged to have taken GH¢ 200 and GH¢ 250 from people who wanted to be given the position under the guise of processing their application forms for district chief executive.
According to Harisu Abudulai, the leader of the youth group making the allegations, the constituency executives forged the letterheads and signatures of the Bolewuras, the chief of Bole, and wrote a letter in favor of Ibrahim Abdulai, who is believed to be the younger brother of the constituency secretary.
