Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia celebrates his 53rd birthday today with a constituency campaign launch at Tano North in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Dr Bawumia joins NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano North Freda Prempeh, to launch her reelection campaign bid on today ahead of the party’s manifesto launch at the Accra Trade Fair Centre on Sunday.
The economist is partnering Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo for the third successive time as his running mate after the 2008 and 2012 general elections.
Born in Tamale in the Northern region, he was a Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana until his nomination as Vice Presidential candidate for the NPP in 2008. He was the lead witness for the petitioners in the 2012/2013 Presidential Election Petition which challenged the declaration of John Mahama as winner of the election. He is married to Samira Ramadan and they have four children.
