Dzodze chiefs honour Volta Regional Minister

The chiefs and queens of Dzodze Traditional area in the Ketu North Constituency of the Volta region have honoured Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, Volta Regional Minister for spearheading "rapid socio-economic development" of the Region.

Togbe Dey III, Chief of Dzodze Fiagbedu, on behalf of the traditional area, said the recently held Regional Town Hall Meeting, which exhibited numerous development projects was evident of good and effective administrative work done by the Minister.

He commended the regional Minister for among others, efforts at bringing relative peace to Nkonya and Alavanyo, and the harmonious working relationship that existed between his administration and traditional rulers.

“What is missing in our body politics is the fact that we are not quick as people to praise our leaders when they perform with excellence”, Togbe Dey said, during a courtesy call on the Minister by chiefs and queens of the Traditional at his residence in Ho.

A citation and a Kente cloth were presented to the Minister in recognition of his meritorious services to the region.

The chiefs pledged their unflinching support for government’s developmental agenda for the region and appealed to the Minister to ensure that urgent actions were taken to construct a modern market at Dzodze.

They also called for the Aflao-Ho main road to be fixed and the Dzodze town roads, including Dzodze-Kuli-Ehi- Penyi –Ehi roads and the Xevi to Afidenyigba junction tarred.

The chiefs also asked the Regional Minister to ensure full operationalisation of the Akanu border project to provide jobs for the youth.



Dr Letsa expressed appreciation to the chiefs and the queens for the gesture and mentioned efforts being made by government to enhance the lots of the citizenry.

The Minister assured that the requests of the chiefs would be addressed and that plans were far afoot to undertake a massive water project at Dzodze.

He appealed to the chiefs to ensure that all conflicts and misunderstandings were resolved in the area for accelerated development.
