Vitoria Guimaraes forward Nii Adamah Plange has pointed out that sending Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari home ahead of the Portugal clash adversely affected the Black Stars.

The 24-year-old Ghanaian-born Burkinabe international, who has recently declared his intention to switch allegiance to Ghana, noted that the four-time African champions did their best at the World Cup, but could have gone far without the off-field disturbances.

“Ghana did well. It was not a bad game,” Plange told Goal Ghana. “In football it is either win or lose or draw. We lost, and we can’t say anything bad about the boys.”

“From what I saw, I think the boys were not really happy on the field and you could see at some point they were a bit dull.”

He added: “I don’t really know what happened in camp that led to the sacking of Kevin (Prince Boateng) and (Sulley) Muntari, but I think the decision was a bit harsh, and it affected the team a lot.”

Ghana lost 2-1 to Portugal in their final Group G game to end their Brazil 2014 campaign.
