Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko an influential player in the Akufo-Addo government has commended defeated chairman candidate of the New Patriotic Party Stephen Ntim for his ‘superb concession’.

According to Gabby, Ntim will likely lead the party in the 2024 race and it is not over for him.

“Congrats to Chairman Blay, Stephen Ntim’s concession speech is superb. I know it is not over for Ntim. He is likely to chair the party for the 2024 race. Let this defeat draw him rather ever closer.” He wrote on Facebook.

“Now that the NPP has finished with its own internal arrangements, time to focus mainly on why political parties exist: winning voters to your side and getting them to vote for you on the day.” He added.

He further expressed hope in the resolve of the leadership they have elected calling for space to be created for people like ‘Nuhu and Dominic’.

“The NPP spoke and it was emphatic. We have a solid organizational leadership with Awuku and Nana B. It is my hope that we can find accommodation in the structure for hardworking grounds men such as Nuhu and Dominic.”

The New Patriotic Party elected Freddie Blay as its Chairman at the just eneded National Delegates Conference held in the Eastern regional capital, Koforidua.

He beat off stiff opposition from Dr Richard Amoako Baah, Stephen Ayesu Ntim who were both hoping to take up the mantle of leadership.

Blay polled 3021 votes as against Ntim’s 2515 votes.

Dr Richard Amoako Baah polled 18 votes.

This the fourth time that Mr Stephen has attempted to serve the NPP as national chairman but has not been successful.

Most Rev Dr Samuel Asante Antwi swore the new elected executives into office moments after the the Electoral Commission declared the results at 4:20am on Sunday.

Ntim accepting his fourth defeat indicated that it will not affect his loyalty to the New Patriotic party.
