Minister-designate for Railway Development, Joe Ghartey was in the hot seat today as members of the Appointments Committee queried him.
He exhibited a clear command on issues regarding the railway sector coupled with a touch of humour which left the house cracked up during the period.
Mr. Ghartey disclosed the country’s potential of experiencing massive economic explosion with the development of a good railway structure. Additionally, he also noted an introduction of automated train tickets to replace the manual ones as part of plans to improve the sector.
He however maintained that financial constraints may be a major challenge if not addressed.
Mr. Joe Ghartey if approved will be the Minister in charge of railway development, which will operate separately from the roads and Highways sector.
