Minister-designate for Communications, Ursula Owusu Ekuful has said she is earnestly making amends for the intemperate language she unleashed against her opponents in the political heat that preceded elections.

“I am sure in all our sober moments, there are incidents that you’ll much rather not have done. But in the heat of battle, when you’re facing an onslaught of bullet, you also fire a few salvos while you scurry for cover. But it is incumbent on all of us to take steps to reduce the political heat even in the heat of battle.” the nominee told the Appointments Committee Wednesday.

According to her, she’s adopted a reformed path in politics and being more diplomatic, as well as responsible in her political life going forward.

The political scene became murky ahead of the 2016 polls, amidst the high stakes in the election, with activists of the the two major political parties(NDC, NPP) throwing jabs and launching scathing attacks on each other.

The nominee, who was a brick in the NPP’s campaign, admitted Wednesday before the vetting committee that she’d regrets upon hindsight for joining the fray in the political attacks, insisting that now that the political temperature is down, she’s reformed naturally.

“All that matters is that we should recognize that we all children of one mother and we think or swim together, and Ghana has space for all of us,” she said.
