The Upper East Regional Minister, Paulina Tangoba Abayage, has promised to operate an open-door working relationship as far as the development of the region is concerned.

She said, her position as a woman and for that matter- a mother, befits that she opens her arms to all who would come wanting to help in her agenda to develop the region.

Speaking to a cheering gathering of well-wishers and sympathizers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the regional capital, Bolgatanga where she arrived to take over the administration of the region as Regional Minister, the former Ambassador to Italy said, she would engage more with the region’s people, devoid of political colourization, to find solutions to the problems that affect them.

“I will open my arms and my doors to everyone in the region. I am a mother and it will be unfair to not involve everyone. Ghana is for all of us so let us be open to everyone,” she entreated.

She expressed her appreciation for the warm reception she received and assured the region of her readiness to embrace its people and called on Municipal and District Chief Executives and other stakeholders to come together in unison for the purpose of propelling the development of the region.

Thanking the President for believing and giving her an opportunity to represent him in the region and to serve her people, Ambassador Abayage said the regional minister position comes with a lot of responsibility and she will need the support of all to deliver as she has been tasked by President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.

“I will need your support. I will need you to give me the support that I need. If we are able to stand together, we will put this reason on the map for all the good reason.

I am going to join regional coordinating council and the municipal and district assemblies, our traditional authorities, the regional security agencies and we are going to work together with the citizens, the indigenes of this region and those who have come to stay with us in this region,” she promised.

She touched on women’s groups, children and the disabled saying, “we will do as much as we can to bring them all on board”.

The Upper East Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Anthony Namoo, who welcomed her on behalf of the Party, assured the Minister of the their never-ceasing support for her administration.

“On behalf of all of you gathered here. On behalf of the Upper East region and the party, we welcome you wholehearted to this region and we commit ourselves individually and collectively to assist you in stirring the affairs of the party,” Lawyer Namoo said.
