Acting national chairman of the New Patriotic Party Freddie Blay says the President Akufo-Addo government is not finding it easy fulfilling some of its campaign promises.

The NPP campaigned on a number of ambitious promises prior to the 2016 polls.

They included, the One district one factory policy, One village one day programme and the Free SHS policy which is currently being rolled out.

But critics of the government have questioned why for example, no factory has been built, no dam has been constructed, after more than a year in power.

Speaking to TV3’s Afreh-Nuamah, Freddie Blay indicated, “It’s not easy. It’s not a tea party. You don’t just run through all these things. You definitely must find money. We were challenged and government made promises and the promises are being fulfilled. We are on it”

He continued: “There will always be challenges…It’s for us to overcome the challenges. Government is trying… I have a feeling that not less than 70 per cent [of the promises will be fulfilled].”

President Akufo-Addo is on record to have stated that a major reason for his decision to appoint 110 ministers and deputies was to ensure accelerated development. In fact, he has said, he is “a man in a hurry”
