A board member of the National Youth Authority, Arnold Boateng, has tendered in his resignation, citing “issues” he is not comfortable making public.
By a letter to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, through the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Boateng said he can no longer serve in the role he has been occupying for the past two years.
“The past two years have been a period of service and great lessons I would for a long time cherish,” he stated.
But he claims the “issues” at the Authority warrant the immediate attention of the president.
“There are issues at the Authority, which I am unhappy about but cannot comment on as a result of my oath of secrecy as a board member.
“I would, therefore, urge you to take keen interest at the Authority to ensure best practice, appropriate conduct and actions.”
It is unclear what the reasons may be but Mr Boateng expressed appreciation to the president “for the opportunity to serve on the board”.
