'God will judge anyone who attempts to hijack Ken Agyapong's Base Movement' - JOY

Former presidential aspirant, Jacob Osei Yeboah (JOY), has declared that the movement was established solely to advance the presidential ambition of Kennedy Agyapong and empower Ghana's youth, warning that anyone who attempts to hijack it for personal political gain would face divine judgment.

Addressing a press conference in Accra, on July 29, 2026, Osei Yeboah said the Base Movement has evolved into a formidable grassroots organisation with nationwide structures, driven by young people committed to securing a better future for Ghana through visionary leadership.

He said the massive turnout at the movement's recent mega walk in Kumasi reflected the growing support among the youth for the movement's vision and their readiness to play an active role in shaping the country's political future.

According to Osei Yeboah, the Base Movement was conceived by businessman Dr George Oti Bonsu specifically to support Kennedy Agyapong's presidential ambition and has remained committed to that objective.

"The Base belongs to Kennedy Agyapong and the youth of Ghana. Anyone is free to join and work with us, but it must be for the interest of Kennedy Agyapong and the transformation of Ghana. Whoever uses the Base Movement to advance selfish interests should know that God will judge and punish such actions," he indicated.

While welcoming all Ghanaians who share the movement's vision, he stressed that the platform must not be used to pursue individual political ambitions or personal interests.

Osei Yeboah further alleged that political opponents had attempted to infiltrate and divide the movement through imitation groups and misinformation campaigns but insisted those efforts had failed.

To protect the integrity of the organisation, he announced that all official registrations, activities and communications would be conducted only through the movement's legally registered platform and cautioned supporters against engaging with unauthorised groups or websites claiming to represent the movement.

He added that the Base Movement has established nationwide structures involving traditional authorities, religious bodies, youth groups, persons with disabilities, industrial leaders, traders, professionals and technocrats to encourage broader participation in national development.

According to him, many Kennedy Agyapong supporters across the country are awaiting a clear signal before openly identifying with the movement, expressing confidence that the strengthened organisational structures would help mobilise thousands of supporters ahead of the next general elections.

Osei Yeboah reiterated that the Base Movement remains committed to promoting patriotism, honesty, discipline and accountability while working to create sustainable jobs and improve the lives of young Ghanaians.

He urged the youth to unite behind Kennedy Agyapong, insisting that the movement would remain loyal to its founding purpose and would not allow anyone to exploit it for personal or political gain.
