“it is only the General Secretary or his assigns who can sell the presidential forms because it has to be appended and stamped.” This is why the process of registering as a presidential candidate should be changed. We should have an independent body such as Federal Election Commission(FEC) register presidential candidates instead of parties. Picking up a form should be simplified and not be made a big deal. It does seem like Asiedu is just trying to put impediments in the way of potential candidates, that is all. Let us give NDC candidates a chance so we get the best for the country, at this point potential candidates are being intimidated and silenced so Mahama does not challenged. How is this good for our country?

A Christian movie whose cast is made up of christian actors and actresses from various denominations like Assemblies of God Church, Praise Harvest Community Church (PHCC), The Church of Pentecost, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Roman Catholic Church, Lighthouse Chapel, ICGC, The Porters House, Action Chapel, Salem Christian Centre, Winners Chapel, Methodist Church, KICC, etc, is set to be released in UK, Ghana and other countries soon. The upcoming blockbuster movie was created by a UK-based Ghanaian by name Sammy Ankrah, one of the core leaders and a member of the Board of Trustees of Praise Harvest Community Church (PHCC) headed by Rev Moses Asare in the UK.

Speaking to Midlands News in the UK, Sammy Ankrah, who is a Geo-environmental Engineer and a Pollution Scientist by profession, said he got the vision for the film in October 2009 when he caught a revelation from a message delivered by Bishop Bernard Owusu Ansah (alias Bishop O A Bernard) of Praise Valley Temple, Holland, during the annual MOVE convention of PHCC in London. According to Sammy Ankrah, who is also a writer, Bishop O A Bernard’s message came as a catalyst to 'push forth' a concern he had been heavily burdened with over a period of time earlier. He said some of the issues he dealt with in the film are real life occurrences he had experienced personally, or had been experienced by other people which those people had made Sammy Ankrah aware of.

He bemoaned what he called “The Elitist Strategy”, which he explained to mean the development in the church where educated or relatively enlightened (per the context) preachers of the gospel cunningly use psychology in the name of God to “subdue the mental matrix” – the reasoning capabilities of vulnerable followers and potential converts to the faith. By so doing, according to Sammy Ankrah, they manage to put fear into their victims and use certain biblical truths to brainwash the victims to unsuspectingly buy into particular self-made doctrines. He said even so-called 'learned' people among the congregation sometimes readily fall victim to such 'schemes'.

The film maker explained that by this strategy, biblical truths are cunningly twisted by such charlatans for their selfish interest at the expense of the unsuspecting vulnerable. Sammy Ankrah stated that although he believed there are real ‘criminals’ who have mastered this craft of deception and invaded the church, the most worrying aspect are the genuine preachers of the gospel who have been influenced by the trend and have consequently resorted to fake strategies to achieve success in their ministries.

“I can emphatically tell you that a lot of people are going into ministry these days not because they have been truly called by God, but they see it as an easy route to achieve financial success, societal recognition, respect and fame. Even where people were genuinely called by God into ministry, some of them soon learn the 'charlatanistic tricks', especially when the going gets tough along the line, and so deviate from the ‘path of righteousness’ to join the bandwagon", he said. This development, according to Sammy Ankrah, is having a negative impact on the church and virtually overshadowing the good works of genuine preachers of the gospel who are doing everything possible to save lives from being lost.

According to Sammy Ankrah, the film was estimated to be completed and released at the end of the first quarter of 2011 but problems encountered during production resulted in a long unexpected delay. It is, however, scheduled to be released later in 2015. I think NDC has been very swift to discipline these individuals who do not want to follow simple instructions. I would be glad the president shows the same attitude with ministers and appointees who misbehave.

I am really at a loss at the stance taken by Asiedu Nketiah(General Secretary)and his Deputy.Who are making it seem like the wrong or 'fake' forms that was issued to George Boateng(Mahama's challenger)was his making or fault.Here's the thing,notice was served for the opening of nominations for the party's parliamentary/presidential primaries,an interested person reports at the party headquarters and is issued presidential nomination form by party official after making the required payment.It ends up that it was a wrong form that was issued.Call it draft or whatever.What's the big deal about this,that it's a draft,wrong or 'fake' form?Is it not just a matter of inviting the person to come for the original or true form?After all it was paid for.And by the way,if it was a draft or 'fake' form(as the General Secretary wants everyone to understand)that was issued and was paid for,did the official who issued it do that with the intent to defraud?And if so,is he not liable to be arrested for prosecution?Just asking?And by the way,if Mahama's form that was picked by the Vice on his behalf also turn out to be a wrong form like that of his would-be challenger,how would that have been handled?What wrong has George Boateng(the challenger)done to be issued a wrong form?

Go ahead man. You were good as an official at the constituency level for the party. Why not at the national level? Let them cancel the primaries then if they do not want anyone to challenge Mahama.They are afraid of the skel ...

Minority leader Alban Bagbin has disclosed that President John Mahama invited and thanked him for openly criticizing him.

According to him, the president showed gratitude for his candidness and openness with the ills in his government.

The Nadowli-Kaleo MP came under fierce attack by members of the ruling NDC after he openly chastised the president for surrounding himself with friends and cronies instead of appointing efficient people to work in his administration.

He also rebuked the President for reneging on his campaign promises and reminded him of the danger in his actions for politicians from the northern part of the country.

Speaking to Accra-based Asempa FM, many months after the episode, the former Health Minister said Mr. Mahama showed leadership in the heat of the moment.

“He invited and thanked me for criticizing him. I know most of my own criticisms can be used against him in the 2016 elections but honestly, he has corrected most of the things I spoke about and I believe that he has done enough to merit a second term”.
