Otiko Afisah Djaba has been approved by Parliament as Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection.
Parliament decided to ballot and make a final decision based on the outcome of the ballots. The decision however did not go down well with some Minority members who insist the issue should not be debated as per the laws of the failure to do her National Service makes her ineligible for the position.
They therefore boycotted the voting process and walked out of the house.
Parliament earlier today approved six other Minister-designates.
