It.Trust me, they will come. Baseball can alleviate poverty and provide educational scholarships, travel opportunities for many kids know gh.

  The problem with baseball is that it's really expensive. It's not like football or basketball where you just need a little empty space and a ball. With baseball/softball you need a ball, at least one bat, mitts, at least infielders, at least one umpire, etc etc. You also need several square feet of space for all the necessary running around.
  
  It's a sport that will need sponsorship at the state level to get anywhere. Good luck getting that in Ghana.

American football those are expensive, not baseball. Look at the number of south American, central American baseball players in the mlb? Where do you think they got their basic training from back home? Do u research. Gh can start making a name in baseball, basketball and exporting players.very soon, these players will be playing in the major leagues.

  There is plenty of stuff that is tossed in the trash in the US that would cost Africans an arm and a leg if they had to pay for it themselves. They can easily be sent to Ghana, yes, but will they? Don't kid yourself.

  And trust me, most of those Venezuelans/Puerto Ricans/Dominicans etc play ball in fields and stadiums built by the government, well-off schools or public organizations like universities. How many fields has Ghana govt built? We had to go and beg Japan to build one for us.
  
  In fact I was reading an article on Slate.com recently about how baseball is increasingly becoming a sport for white, middle-class kids because others can't afford it. If you're interested I can find it for you.

In as much as I appreciate the above mentioned subject that was put together by Sammy Heywood Okine, I will humbly want to asked him to confirm to me the meaning of Japanese time in Ghana. This is because, the event is taking place in Ghana and one would have wished that timings for the programme be communicated in GMT but the writer in his own wisdom chose to use that of Japan with reasons best known to him.This might be seen as minor, but added, they are the very little things crippling our beloved country and until all Ghanaians start thinking Ghana like our forebears did,the cedi and the economy will continue to dwindle. God bless our homeland........
