Middlesbrough widesman Albert Adomah has revealed that former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah did well to calm nerves in camp during the World Cup.

He said Appiah motivated the players to go all out to train when tempers were high after they threatened to boycott training over their appearance fees.

“It was an uneasy situation in camp but I think Stephen Appiah handled the issue very well,” Adomah told Ghanasoccernet. “In the final day of training, it took him to go room by room to urge us to at least come out to train and the response from the players was great I must admit.”

The 26-year-old midfielder has admitted the decision to add the former Ghana international to the team paid off, adding that he had a lifetime experience in the Stars' camp.

“It’s an experience of a life-time and the least said the better, others also did well but I think the decision to bring on Appiah helped a bit.”

Adomah has played 15 times for Ghana scoring one goal in the process.
